H. sapiens nucleosome

(X-ray crystallography at 2.5Å resolution)

"Gene expression in eukaryotes depends upon positioning, mobility and packaging of nucleosomes; thus, we need detailed information of the human nucleosome core particle (NCP) structure, which could clarify chromatin properties." [1]

I'm working on the beginning of the end for animal testing in the pharmaceutical industry with help from scientists at Sandia and Los Alamos. Nobody looks at a pigeon and thinks that's a good example of a T-Rex, Mus musculus and Homo sapiens evolution diverged around the same time 100 million years ago. Preclinical results from mouse models often fail in human trials, with tragic consequences in some cases eg. Thalidomide.

40 years of computer experience

He took me to the IBM office in downtown Montreal on the Monday before xmas to buy me the first original IBM PC but he had no money left for software or games after that. I split my paper route money with another nerd at my school to buy BASIC 1.0 so the only video games I played as a teenager were the ones I coded myself. In hindsight that act of tough love set me up on an amazing computer career at Corning, Disney, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren F1, BBC News, ...
